First, no, I am not talking about machines selling used panties. Although I know these existed at some point in time, I never saw one and I’ve been in Japan for many years.
So what I’m talking about is a really, really strange place that you probably won’t find in any guide book. It’s an old, almost crumbling little building filled with old and weird vending machines selling… well, weird stuff.
This place is on the corner of a small street in Akihabara, and it’s not really hidden, but if you see it from the main street chances are you won’t really notice it. But when you enter and see… you can’t help feeling a bit uneasy. (the roof that threatens to collapse any minute doesn’t help)
So what do these machines sell ? Drinks, of course (some of them I never saw elsewhere and I wouldn’t dare try) but also toys, mystery packages with weird writings on them, old train tickets, snacks, spaghetti sauce (?)…. What makes the whole place even weirder is all the signs, most of them with long text that doesn’t make much sense.
I have no idea what this place is exactly but it must belong and be “maintained” by some crazy person… that all you can think of after seeing this !
Well, what a better place to buy escargots AND pancake mix at the same place!
Must be cold in winter.
“This is not a toilet”. There was certainly a need to put this there (-_-);
This popcorn looks very fresh…
