The trees along Meguro River, which are all pink during cherry blossoms season, have turned to blue for an illumination event inspired by the Blue Grotto in Italy. The impressive event is obviously attracting crowds, to the point that the lighting have been cancelled on weekends and holidays.
The blue lights really create a magical scenery, as everything around the trees (including the river) seem to turn blue. However, the crowds, the countless couples taking selfies, the policemen yelling to stop the flow of people at intersections when a car passes… all of this makes the experience rather ordinary. But oh well… Tokyo is crowded. 仕方がない。
The event really attracted all kinds of visitors.
