The Shinjuku Southern Terrace, accessible from the South exit of JR Shinjuku station, became all Chrismassy again. A simple but pretty illumination event, it’s a nice place to have a walk, especially on less crowded days. (forget weekends !)
Highlights include a small-scale projection mapping on a display vaguely shaped like a Christmas tree.
The little path surrounded by trees decorated with giant colored balls is very popular with couples and selfie enthusiasts.
Illuminated displays featuring the Suica (JR commuter card) mascot penguin character,
Near the station, nine Christmas trees, each having a different color, offer an impressive sight.
The scenery with Takashimaya Times Square in the back is very pretty.
